He is the marquee-king of Bollywood. By training, Mr. Ram Gopal Varma is an engineer from Andhra Pradesh. He has brought about a revolution in Indian cinema through his energetic –path-breaking ideas. His re-engineering in Hindi Cinema has changed its old styles. He is continuing his experiments to advance his work. Every year his hit-factory is producing some of the biggest hits of Bollywood. His latest release AAG, featuring Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Debgan and some new faces, - is a remake of legendary film, .

Three years back, in an interview to Filmfare Magazine [May 2004] Ramu said, “I believe a film is like a conversation….but that doesn’t take away my right to say what I want.” Yes, he has the right to experiment with some other’s creation with his own creativity. His every film has not done so well in the box-office. Will this big budget do well in the box office? Ram Gopal Varma has some ready-made answer for this type of question. He doesn’t make film for money. But he needs money to make a new film. So, the box office collection is not the answer for his wonderful creativity. After all, “a film is not intended to be made in such way that it is liked by everyone.” he said.

Ram Gopal Varma got the inspiration to make Hindi cinema, when he was in Hyderabad. He loved to watch film in the big screen. It was a high excitement for him. One film that made a tremendous impact on Ram Gopal Varma is Rajshri production’s Chitchor. He was so excited that he watched that film more than three times. The point was that, Chitchor was not a big hit in the box-office. It was failed to attract a huge crowd, but inspired a person like Ram Gopal Varma. After that, “Yaadon Ki Baraat” and “Chori Mera Kaam” were the other films he liked most.

His forthcoming attraction, Ram Gopal Varma’s AAG is fully loaded. Fight, music drama every ingredients are added by the director, Ram Gopal Varma to make it a real bollywood ‘mashala’ movie. This time the intention is obviously to get more audience in the theaters. The main villain, Amitabh Bachchan is much energized to get his dream role. This’ll surely excite the public. Ram Gopal Varma is not working first time, with this living legend, Amitabh Bachchan. Earlier, Ramu did a 300-million Rs. project, Sarkar, with Amitabh Bachchan in 2006. Sarkar did a good business in the box-office. Ram Gopal Varma’s partnership with Sahara India was a successful one.

The film maker Guru has some keys for his success. He likes people with fresh ideas and good vision. So, he is called a film buff in bollywood. Every year, Ram Gopal Varma gets many quality ideas. But as director, working on all of them is not possible. He distributes these ideas to some newcomers who have a good potential for success in film-making. He feels that he could not stop a good project in his waiting list. In this way the current bollywood is enriched with new artists.
